Millpledge was founded in 1976 (then Millpledge Pharmaceuticals) by Derek “Slim” Carthew MRPharmS MISM alongside Graham Cheslyn-Curtis, with a clear focus on delivering practical and reliable veterinary products.
From the beginning, the aim was straightforward: to support veterinary professionals with products that help everyday clinical care run smoothly and efficiently.
What started as a small UK business has grown into an internationally recognised veterinary supplier and manufacturer, trusted by practices across the world while remaining focused on the same practical principles that shaped the company from the start.
Growing Alongside the Veterinary Profession
Throughout the 1980s, Millpledge expanded into essential consumables, bandages, and dressings that became part of everyday practice life.
As the profession evolved, so did we. By the 1990s, trading as Millpledge Veterinary, the business had developed a clear focus on supporting the treatment and care of animal patients across a wide range of clinical environments.
Innovation has continued to play an important role in our growth. In the 2000s, the launch of Rapz Eazy Tear® introduced a cohesive bandage designed to deliver the practicality and ease of use that busy veterinary teams rely on every day.
Over the following decades, we continued to expand both our product range and international reach, supporting veterinary professionals with solutions designed around the changing needs of modern practice.
